Old Lahaina Luau,

Sorry, we have been ill since we came home three weeks ago with severe cold, multi Dr. visits and ambulance ride to the hospital to try to break this and, I am happy to say, we are slowly climbing back up to being healthy, and I can now continue on with my reviews..

One event I have to tell you about is the Old Lahaina Luau in Lahaina, Maui. It is the oldest running and, as far as we can see, the very best you will ever go and see. We have been, probably 8-9 times over the years and it does not disappoint. We have been to 3 or 4 others (to compare) and they are less than second .

The layout of the grounds, lei and Mai Tai greeting as you enter takes your breath away. The ocean is right there, crafts being offered along the outer fringe, musicians playing traditional Hawaiian music, the pork roasting in the Imu  oven.

The multitude of items offered in the Buffet are so fresh (each item is explained) and you can return time and time again. The cocktails are as many as you want, from fancy to wine to beer and are included in your ticket. Desserts are brought to the table and are all shared equally ( you will know what I mean, when you are there).

Now the show really begins, so many dancers, costume changes, stories that go with each dance and, believe me, you are sorry to have it come to an end. It is so vibrant and the chanter is amazing as well. Simply a memory from start to finish.

A word of warning….seating is by date of reservation and if you don’t reserve BEFORE you get there, you probably won’t get in. This show is usually booked 6-8 weeks in advance.
