Liquidity Winery Bistro

We were treated to a lovely Brunch at Liquidity by two of our friends. We had vaguely heard of it but were delighted to be  introduced to this lovely establishment with a terrific and different view of the valley.

We were invited to a wine tasting before we sat down and tried a few of them Yum. After being seated the men went outside and came in suggesting we go on the patio to enjoy our meal. It was so warm outside.  We ordered a glass of wine and then perused the menu. There were four of us and yup – you guessed it – we tried the entire brunch menu.

Two people ordered the local cured ham and farm potato skillet. It has a fried egg, bell peppers, spring onions and a house heirloom tomato hot sauce. They devoured that and got to sample what the other two had ordered……sort of.

My friend ordered the braised short rib melt and loved it.  Her order was a Terroir Cascadia cheese, grilled bread, herb scramble, arugula and a smokey cherry merlot ketchup. I ordered the brioche bread pudding French toast with white chocolate shavings, almond crunch, raspberries and crème fraiche. OMG!  Of course mine was the best.

Not to consider the meal over, we ordered (you guessed it) two different desserts. Three of us ordered the gingered pear tea custard (like a crème brulee), topped with a vanilla braised summer peach pear compote and almond crunch. The other lady ordered the warm skillet brioche bread pudding with house churned white chocolate ice cream and a mulled red wine caramel. Oh my! We won’t be having dinner for sure tonight.

Our server was exceptional. Throughout the entire meal for us and others on the deck she served from the right and removed from the left. Very few servers get this. It was lovely. Yes, we will return. It was a super treat and a wonderful way to be introduced to a new venue.

My Most Unusual Review I have Written Yet.

Over the past year, while Don and I have been finding that most restaurants have portions of food so huge, you either leave half of it or ask for the proverbial doggy bag and then it sits in the fridge for days before being tossed.

Until now.

The last few months we have ‘dined’ out at A & W enjoying their ‘buddy burgers a couple of times. I kid you not they are tasty and just the perfect size. Honest they are. I never liked this establishment since high school….not even the Root Beer.

Today while shopping and getting rather hungary, we sat down in the food court and were only going to have a coffee before heading home, I kept looking at the floating advertisement at A & W  for their new ‘buddy chicken burgers’.  After looking at that for several moments I suggested that we share one. (I am chicken – sorry for the pun- about chicken at most places). Don’t forget these are just the perfect size for one and now we are sharing. After the first bite, I could have eaten the whole on  my own making Don go and buy another. But I didn’t…..I know, my wings are slipping.

Seriously, we all know A & W is not fine dining and I haven’t really eaten a thing there (anywhere) since high school, but these are good and yes, I will order it again….and perhaps again.
