Sawmill Tap House, Chemainus, BC

Our travels this week have been several. Senior citizens don’t have to stay home. All you have to do is remember “motion is lotion” and go for it. We did. We went to Chemainus to see a live theatre production and then went for lunch.

The Sawmill Tap House was one we had not been to and it was fun to try out.

Don ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Our daughter loves this dish and he thought he would try it. He even brought a piece of chicken back home. It was so crispy, he liked it.

I ordered the funghi pizza. I checked out the menu on line before and it looked super. Well, being a mushroom freak, I ordered it. Uh, big mistake. it wasn’t anything like what they showed. It was not cooked. Period. I am not one to make a fuss in a restaurant, especially with the people we were with and the time restraint we were under. We brought it home and threw it out. If there was even 2 little mushrooms cut up on it, I would be surprised. The crust was like it had just been thawed and then served. True.

Oh, I almost forgot. I pulled off the pizza 12,  yes 12 cloves of garlic. I wouldn’t eat one of these, yet they put 12 on it. Also, having a teenage hockey team who had no clue how to behave…you could not even yell to the person sitting next to you and understand what was said.

You decide for yourselves. This is just my opinion but…..
