Joey’s Only Restaurant – Penticton, B.C.

This is the second time we went for lunch  At Joey’s Only Restaurant  http://joeys.ca/location/britishcolumbia/penticton.html   (just to see if it is the same) and yes, it is.  The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. More than enough to eat and then they come out and offer free pop/iced tea refill  or extra fries. Right…the elastic on my waistband is almost crying for relief so we had to say no, thank you.

We don’t understand just why they are not lined up outside the door. Perhaps advertising would help a bit. They are not too far from the beach and tourism is high on the list now.

We did notice that the average age today was 45+.

The restaurant is clean and yes, it is a little long in the tooth but you can’t beat the quality of food or cleanliness of the establishment.  Give it a try.

Moxie’s Restaurant – Kelowna, B.C.

When we drove into Kelowna last Wednesday to pick up Suzanne at the airport, we stopped in at Moxie’s Moxie’s Kelowna for lunch. THIS is a classy restaurant. Clean, modern and a slightly different variety  to choose from.

Don ordered the Lobster/Brie  Sandwich as well as the Cheese/Broccoli Soup. He claimed it was very rich, very tasty and not over cooked.  I ordered the Veal Burger with pancetta and white cheddar cheese and, of course, the fries. It was different but really tasty and it was SO good, I ate the whole burger. Haven’t done that in years.

The Duty Manager was super, making sure that all was well. I can’t/won’t/don’t eat onions and she made sure it was done right. Addie, our waitress, was very bubbly and it was a good experience all around.  One thing, and I am a real nut on this, the washrooms are along the same lines as the Cactus Clubs. There is a fireplace in each of them (men’s and women) and the slate tile floors make it absolutely a must restaurant to frequent. I kid you not. If the washrooms are not clean and fresh, why would I eat there? What are the kitchens like then?

One thing I am almost campaigning for is that Restaurants/owners must realize that every sandwich can’t have onions in them. I would have loved the Lobster sandwich but it was made with onions in an onion bun.

Would we come back? In a heart beat.
