Crowe and Gate English Pub, Nanaimo

Last Saturday, Don, Kelly and I went to the Crowe and Gate for lunch. Believe me people this establishment is never without a full house and waiting customers outside, any day, any time. It is very loud  inside because of the volume of people and that is part of the ambience. About 2 weeks ago, Don’s two sons were here from Calgary and Maurice had been to the Crowe and Gate before and wanted to return. We did and did it again

Our server, Ryan was working really hard and always with a smile. The food: so, so so good.  Kelly  had a Publican burger with a salad side. Don had a Crowe burger and I had a grilled cheese sandwich. This alone was spectacular. It was so big, I brought half of it home. Don and I shared it Sunday for lunch. Drinks also were ordered but we were all so full we had to pass on dessert.

IF you have never been here before, please make a reservation and go. You will not regret it ever.

Ryan and the Crowe and Gate – THANK YOU again.

Great Shopping Day In Wailea

FINALLY! After a walk on the beach, breakfast on the lanai, some reading and then lunch……we finally go shopping.

We went to Louis Vitton for Anne and now  we know why. While they were gift wrapping her purchase, the wonderful young salesman (sorry ladies, he is engaged) offered us coffee, champagne, water, juice or anything? Where else?

Then we were in Tommy Bahamas for a beautiful white linen shirt for Don and now to the best of the best…we went down to Cariloha and bought a set of bamboo sheets, coverlet and two sets of towels. The salespeople in all three of these establishments were top drawer in attitude (no snobs here), great suggestions and Trevor from Tommy Bahamas wins for being the funniest.

I suggested, jokingly, they should have a chair for ladies when men are shopping like they do in most ladies shops for the men to wait. He told me they had one….it was in the dressing room and there could be no hanky panky. and away it went. Laughs and kidding all around.

Then we went for coffee and proudly made our way home. I have a question for Daryl…how’d I do on the shopping?
