Il Terrazzo Restaurant, Victoria, B.C.

We ate here last Monday evening and I sincerely apologize for taking so long to review it, but truth be known, a lot of life has happened this week. So – here we go.

We asked the Hotel to make reservations for us and, being a Monday, figured we would be a shoo in. When we arrived, there was a line up to get in and everyone had a reservation. Again, this was Monday evening at 6 p.m.

We perused the wine list…read that to be a book. It had wines from around the world, listed alphabetically by country and then by White/Red/Sparkling so with a little help from our server , I did pick one and Don ordered his drink. Now we have to decide what we want for dinner and it was a little difficult but I ordered Linguine Marco Polo and Don ordered Linguine con Frutti di Mare.

The Marco Polo dish was noodles mixed with chicken breasts, toasted cashews, mango, fresh basil, pimentos in a creamy lemon sauce. Without a lie this is and was the best Italian food I have ever consumed. I would have stayed there all night just to finish it.

Don’s meal was noodles, prawns, mussels, scallops, tomatoes, garlic, chili flakes, leeks, white wine and parsley. He, as well, proclaimed it t be the best he has ever had.

Did we quit there? Not a chance. We noticed they had Creme Brulee and we ordered one with two spoons. To add insult to injury, my husband thoughtfully ordered me a Monte Cristo coffee as it was Father’s Day and that was one special treat my Pop and I would order it every Christmas Eve. I toasted my Pop and thanked my ever so thoughtful husband.

If you go to Victoria, make this a must stop.
